Plus Ultra signs an agreement with Tunisair to operate its routes to Montreal and Paris

27/04/2026

Strengthens the Spanish airline’s position as a long-haul operator under the ACMI model

Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will support Tunisia’s flag carrier, Tunisair, on its medium- and long-haul routes. The agreement between the two airlines, under the ACMI (wet lease) model, includes the deployment of an Airbus A330 from the Spanish carrier, based at Tunis–Carthage International Airport, from where it will operate the Montreal and Paris routes.

These operations will strengthen Tunisair’s capacity on high-demand medium- and long-haul routes, with the support of the Spanish airline’s crew and technical services. The ACMI model allows airlines to adapt their operational capacity flexibly and efficiently, as it includes the provision of the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance by the operating carrier.

According to Silvia Avelar, Director of Operations at the Spanish airline:

“This agreement represents a significant step in our growth strategy. Collaboration with flag carriers reinforces confidence in our operating model. This is our second contract with North African airlines, following the one signed with Air Algérie, which consolidates our presence in the region and allows us to continue strengthening our ACMI division, a business line that reached 7,347 flight hours in 2025, with growth of 45%.”
