Operations begin with two weekly frequencies, increasing to five in July
Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas is now fully operating its Madrid–Buenos Aires route. The airline has launched the connection with two weekly flights between Madrid-Barajas and Ezeiza airports. Strong market reception and demand exceeding expectations have prompted the company to increase frequencies from July, reaching a total of five flights per week.
The route is operated with Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, specifically designed for long-haul flights and equipped with more spacious cabins to ensure comfort throughout the more than 12-hour journey. The aircraft can accommodate nearly 300 passengers, distributed between Economy and Business Class.
The launch of operations in Argentina coincides with the centenary of the historic Plus Ultra seaplane flight, which in 1926 established the first air link between Spain and South America and whose legacy inspired the airline’s name.
According to Plus Ultra:
“This new route marks a significant milestone in our growth plan. It confirms the company’s ability to compete successfully in one of the most demanding and strategic air transport markets between Europe and Latin America, further strengthening our position as a natural bridge between the two regions.
The strong market response demonstrates that a relatively small airline can gain market share and build passenger loyalty in a corridor historically dominated by major carriers, which is no easy task in today’s highly competitive environment.”
