David Blázquez, director comercial, comenta en Fly News las perspectivas de la compañía
Plus Ultra reviews its development and outlines its short term objectives, as reported in the latest issue of Fly News in its special feature on Spanish airlines. David Blázquez, the airline’s Commercial director, states that:
“We are facing a year of sustained growth where optimizing our fleet and developing strategic markets will strengthen our route network in Latin America.”
The Spanish carrier is advancing its expansion by adding more Airbus A330 aircraft, progressively increasing flight frequencies, and opening new routes. Blázquez notes that the airline maintains an average load factor above 90 %, an indicator that reflects passenger loyalty even in a global context marked by structural challenges for the aviation industry.
Blázquez also commented on the operational situation at the end of November, when restrictions temporarily affected flights with Venezuela. He highlighted that the strength of the airline’s operational structure — supported by fleet expansion and the growth of other company divisions — enabled the activation of an alternative connection through Cartagena de Indias, ensuring continuity of service for passengers.
Looking ahead to 2026, one of the most significant operational milestones is the launch of the new route to Buenos Aires, scheduled for May 23, 2026. This is a competitive market where Plus Ultra expects a positive reception, initially operating two weekly frequencies, increasing to four weekly flights from July.
