Plus Ultra Completes Administrative Procedures to Launch Flights to Buenos Aires Starting May 2026

24/11/2025

The Argentine Subsecretariat of Air Transport has formally authorized the Spanish carrier to operate passenger and cargo services between Madrid and Ezeiza International Airport.

On May 26, 2026, Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will inaugurate its new route to Argentina after completing all administrative procedures with aviation authorities on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Subsecretariat of Air Transport of Argentina, part of the Ministry of Economy, has formalized the authorization granted to the Spanish airline by publishing it in the Official Gazette. The decision, based on the bilateral air services agreement in force between both countries, enables Plus Ultra to operate international services on the Madrid–Buenos Aires–Madrid route, including regular, charter, and special passenger flights, as well as combined passenger-cargo operations.

This latest administrative approval by the Argentine government positions Plus Ultra to expand air connectivity between the two countries—a route that consistently registers high annual demand for tourism, family travel, and business purposes.

The airline has already begun ticket sales for the launch in May, initially with two weekly frequencies, increasing to four per week from July onward. Buenos Aires joins the carrier’s existing regular destinations in Latin America, including Bogotá, Cartagena de Indias, Lima, and Caracas.

The start of the new route next spring coincides with the 100th anniversary of the historic flight of the Plus Ultra seaplane, which connected Spain and the Americas for the first time in 1926—a milestone that inspired the name of the long-haul Spanish airline.
