Plus Ultra to Resume Flights Between Madrid and Caracas on March 3

10/02/2026

Venezuela’s National Institute of Civil Aeronautics announces the removal of restrictions on Spanish airlines

Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will resume its regular flights between Madrid and Caracas as of March 3, following the normalization of air operations for Spanish airlines.

The airline will initially operate two weekly direct frequencies, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. From March 28, a third frequency will be added on the Madrid–Caracas route, along with the weekly Tenerife–Caracas flight, thereby strengthening connectivity between the two markets.

The reactivation of the route follows the lifting of restrictions that had affected air connectivity since late November 2025. During this period, Plus Ultra temporarily suspended its operations, prioritizing safety and acting in line with the recommendations of Spain’s State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), its European counterpart EASA, and the subsequent revocation of operating permits by Venezuelan aviation authorities, a measure that was extended to all Spanish airlines. The National Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Venezuela has now announced the removal of any restrictions on Spanish carriers.

According to Plus Ultra: “The resumption of flights to Caracas represents a very important step toward restoring normal operations with our main destinations and for the thousands of families who regularly rely on our flights between Spain and Venezuela.”
