Regular flights from Madrid and Tenerife resume on March 3 following the normalization of air operations in Venezuela
Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas is ramping up its operations with Venezuela and will reach five weekly frequencies on its routes to Caracas starting July 1, operating from its bases in Madrid and Tenerife. After resuming its regular flights on March 3, the airline will progressively strengthen its operations.
From April 1, the Spanish airline will operate three weekly frequencies between Madrid and Caracas — Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday — adding an additional weekly flight from Tenerife on Sundays. Beginning in July, Plus Ultra will increase its Caracas service to five flights per week: four from Madrid — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday — plus the weekly frequency from Tenerife.
The company suspended flights to the Latin American country on November 23, 2025, following recommendations from the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA) and its European counterpart, EASA. Shortly thereafter, Venezuelan air navigation authorities revoked the operating licenses of all Spanish airlines.
From that moment, Plus Ultra implemented various alternatives to meet its commercial commitments to passengers affected by the cancellation of operations: rebooking options, ticket refunds, and ultimately reinforcing its Cartagena de Indias route to connect with a local operator facilitating onward travel to Caracas.
Plus Ultra highlights that
“from the very beginning, the priority was to provide all possible options to passengers, demonstrating strong logistical agility and a firm commitment to customer service under particularly challenging circumstances.”
With the reactivation of flights to Venezuela, Plus Ultra now operates five regular routes in South America: Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogotá, Cartagena de Indias, and Caracas. In addition, the airline operates in more than twenty countries across America, Europe, Africa, and Asia through its cargo, charter, and ACMI business divisions.
