Plus Ultra signs agreement with Air Algérie to cover long-haul routes

20/05/2025

The service begins with a daily flight between Algiers and Montreal.

This strengthens the Spanish airline’s position as a long-haul operator under the ACMI (Algiers Conventional International Means of Transport) model.

Over the next 12 months, Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will support the national carrier Air Algérie on its medium- and long-haul routes. The agreement between the two airlines, carried out under the ACMI model, begins with the daily Algiers–Montreal route and includes the provision of an Airbus A330-200 from Plus Ultra with its crew.

The agreement also allows the Spanish airline to extend its services to other medium- and long-haul routes operated by Air Algérie. The ACMI model enables an airline to adapt its fleet to its schedule in a flexible and fast way. The airline providing the service supplies the aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance. This has become one of Plus Ultra’s fastest-growing business lines, along with its regular routes to Latin America, already representing more than 20% of its business volume.

According to Julio Martínez, President of Plus Ultra, the agreement with Air Algéri:

Strengthens the diversification of our company as a global provider of air solutions and reinforces Plus Ultra’s position as a specialized long-haul operator, both on our own routes to Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, and Guinea, as well as in tailor-made services for other airlines.
