Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas connects Warsaw with Cartagena de Indias

19/03/2025

The airline already covers routes to Colombia from Madrid and now adds the connection between Warsaw and the Caribbean city with a charter flight.

Plus Ultra expands its presence in the long-haul travel market by operating the connection between Warsaw and Cartagena de Indias. This route joins the one already operated between the Polish city of Katowice and the Colombian Caribbean destination.

The Warsaw–Cartagena de Indias flight is a seasonal route operated for six months by Plus Ultra’s charter division. With a frequency of one flight per week, it responds to growing demand from Polish tourists, who in recent years have increasingly shown interest in this coastal city specifically, and the Caribbean region in general, making it one of the fastest-growing destinations.

The Warsaw–Cartagena route is part of an agreement with the Polish tour operator Rainbow Tours, under which Plus Ultra operates 180 flights to Colombia using Airbus A330 aircraft with a capacity of 299 passengers, resulting in a monthly passenger flow of nearly 8,000. This is not the first collaboration between the two companies, which also operate similar flights from Warsaw and Katowice to other destinations such as Porlamar on Margarita Island and Varadero in Cuba.

According to Julio Martínez Sola, Chairman of the airline:

The growth of Plus Ultra’s charter division provides the airline with a balanced business mix alongside our regular flights from Tenerife to Caracas and from our Madrid-Barajas base to Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, and Equatorial Guinea.
