Plus Ultra expands its collaboration agreement with Air Algérie, covering the Algiers–Dubai route

20/11/2025

During the first nine months of 2025, the Spanish airline’s ACMI division grew by 27% in business volume.

Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas has expanded the service it provides to the flag carrier Air Algérie by operating its route between Algiers and Dubai, as part of the cooperation agreement signed with Algeria’s national airline in June 2025.

With this new route, the Spanish long-haul carrier’s Airbus A330 aircraft add Dubai to other destinations already operated for Air Algérie from its Algiers hub, such as Paris, Montreal, and Istanbul.

The agreement between Plus Ultra and Air Algérie is structured under the ACMI model, a contractual formula through which the contracting airline is provided with aircraft, full crews, maintenance, and insurance, enabling the Algerian carrier to optimize the capacity and operational flexibility of its routes without the need to expand its owned fleet.

This wet-lease model constitutes one of Plus Ultra’s strategic business lines. During the first nine months of 2025, the company’s ACMI division recorded 27% growth in business volume compared to the same period of the previous year, consolidating itself as one of the fastest-growing segments of the airline.

According to Silvia Avelar, Production Director and Head of the ACMI-Charter Division at Plus Ultra, “the agreement with Air Algérie highlights the strength and flexibility of the ACMI model we have established and adds to the partnerships we maintain with other carriers that value our fleet, our experience, our commitment to operational performance, service quality, and sustainability.”
