Secure and flexible next-generation payment methods will be implemented.

Nuvei Corporation, the Canadian Fintech company, has signed an alliance with the Spanish airline Plus Ultra as a strategic partner and payment processor for direct and indirect sales channels (BSP/ARC) in Europe and Latin America.

With extensive experience in the aviation sector, Nuvei will enable Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas to process payments locally in more than 150 currencies and 720 alternative payment methods, maximizing the efficiency of internal processes associated with ticket sales and ancillary products such as seat selection, extra baggage, and class upgrades, among others.

Through this alliance, Plus Ultra passengers will have access, via an integrated platform, to the latest payment options that are more flexible and secure, expanding the range of payment alternatives, which helps increase sales conversion and customer satisfaction.

Juan Jorge Soto, General Manager LATAM at Nuvei, commented on the news:

We are very excited to announce our alliance with Plus Ultra as a strategic partner in their growth and expansion in Latin America. On our side, we will provide the company with all our capabilities, coverage, and expertise in travel-specific payment processing, as well as our regional experience, to support them in managing ticket sales internally.

For Raquel Sánchez, CFO of Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas:

Having one of the world’s leading payment processors as a strategic partner strengthens the solidity of our strategy and supports the company’s growth projections.

The agreement between the two companies comes in the context of sustained growth in air traffic in the region. According to the latest report from the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), activity recorded a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, with 38.7 million passengers transported across Latin America and the Caribbean.
